How do I join the Alpaca Blanket Project?
New members may obtain membership by first completing a Membership Agreement after which they shall receive a farm ID. At that time they must submit a
minimum of 35 pounds of fiber. The Member will then be considered to be an active member.
Does it cost anything to join?
We are not a co-op! There is no fee to join.
What if I change my mind and want to cancel membership?
Membership of a Member may be cancelled at any time for any reason by the Member or at the discretion of the ABP.
I'm just a small farm -- can I join?
ABP encourages group memberships, including affiliate memberships. Get together with members of your local AOBA affiliation or others in your alpaca
network and pool your fiber.
Can I buy blankets without being a member?
Blankets are initially sold to members at a discounted rate. After that any remaining blankets can be sold to the public at a retail cost.
How many blankets can I purchase as a member?
At this time, the minimum number of blankets a member is able to receive is based on the total number of blankets available and the total amount of usable
fiber that member donated in that year. Once all the primary orders are filled, members can buy additional blankets, as they are available.
What if I can't donate fleece every year? Will my membership be terminated? Can I still buy blankets?
There is no requirement for annual donations of fiber. You will not be terminated for missing a year or two of fiber contributions. However, we may be
contacting you to check on your status should we not hear from you after a couple of years. As stated above, blankets will be available first to those who
have contributed fiber in that fiber season, then to the general membership, then finally to the public, if there are any available.
Will you always be selling blankets?
We will always supply to our Members at a discounted rate. However, we are currently involved in negotiating with an exclusive retailer for the future sale of
blankets.
OK, I want to join! What do I do now?
Read and complete the Membership Agreement. Then contact us at AlpacaBlanketProject@yahoo.com. We will need your name, farm name, address,
phone number, email address, and website URL, if you have one. And let us know if you would like a link on our website. We will assign you a farm number
and guide you from there.
What do you do with my address information?
All farm information is confidential. We won't even post a link to your website without your explicit permission!
